Some of the ideas I post here may seem a bit off-the-wall, but they're the sort of thing we like to do for fun, and they end up being pretty inexpensive. This idea started because it was about 10:00 at night and I was a bit bummed out that we hadn't done anything fun, in addition to the fact that we hadn't had any dinner either (some days are like that, you know?). Here's how the conversation went:
Me: What could we eat? What's even open at 10:00?
My husband: Well...McDonald's. Filiberto's. Los Favoritos.
Me: I don't want to go to McDonald's.
My husband: Didn't we decide that Fililberto's has a better carne asada burrito than Los Favoritos?
Me: I don't remember deciding that.
My husband: Well, then, let's decide!
And so we went. My husband made a spreadsheet (I know, we're nerds, but that's probably one reason we like each other) with different categories (tortilla taste, meat flavor, quality of ingredients, price, size, you get the idea). And we went to Filiberto's AND Los Favs and we split a carne asada burrito at both places. Each burrito got a score for each category. And Filiberto's came out on top. No questions.
It's simple and a little silly, but that's probably what will make it a memorable night. I know I'll never wonder again which is the better choice when it comes to carne asada.
So find something you want to compare between two places, and compare it!
